Sad but not suprising. We have along history of White people blaming Black people for their hideous crimes. Charles Staurt, Susan Smith aan millions of other White people have engaged in such despicable behavior.
It reminds me of the late, great comedian Paul Mooney , someone who kept it real who did a hilarious skit on his classic 1993 album RACE entitled "1-900 Blame a Nigger!" It was sad but true.
