What you have to realize is that most of the older Generation X'ers (1965-1980), came of age under Ronald Reagan whose administration openly engage in anti-Black rhetoric. Thus, it should not be all that surprising that older Gen X'ers harbor racist sentiments. Younger Gen X'ers cam of age under Bill Clinton and tend to have more progressive attitudes.
